Your doctor may decide to give you certain drugs on repeat prescription. These are usually listed on a sheet attached to your prescription. If you require further supplies you may request a repeat prescription online by using the online request form available on the 'Home' page or by registering for Online Services (see the link top right). Alternatively please leave the repeat prescription form at one of the surgeries, allowing up to three to five working days for the prescription to be processed. Where applicable, drugs will be supplied (if a fee is payable, please leave the correct money).
In Leigh request forms can be posted, left at the surgeries or at Leigh Post Office . Requests are then taken to Hildenborough to be dispensed and when possible are returned the following day, however please allow 48 hours.
For Weald forms can be posted, left at the surgeries or at Weald Community Pop-Up Shop, currently only on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10 and 11am, and collected the following Tuesday or Thursday, subject to change.
If a fee is payable, please leave the correct money (currently £8.60 per item), either by cash or cheque payable to Hildenborough Medical Group. If you are exempt from the prescription charge other than for age please provide proof at the time of the repeat prescription request.
Please note that we cannot take requests for repeat prescriptions by telephone, this is to avoid mistakes being made.
Postal returns will be made if you enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
We are a part-dispensing practice, and can dispense your medicines if you live more than a mile from your nearest chemist (as the crow flies). This is an important service for many of our patients, so please use it you are eligible.
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs). The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines. Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
From 1 April 2017, the charges are:
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a PPC. The charge for a single prescription item is £8.40, whereas a three month PPC will cost you £29.10 and a 12 month PPC £104.00.
There is further information about prescription exemptions and fees on the NHS website
Please allow up to three to five days, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems please telephone the surgery. You can order your prescriptions via the internet if you register for our online Practice Services, see the online services link on the right of this page.
